Last year, a farmer, a taxi-driver, a sound engineer and a graphic designer — all of them musicians — met Oualid Khelifi, a documentary filmmaker traveling throughout his native Algeria. Together, they decided to form El Foukr R'Assembly, a music and storytelling project focused on the Maghreb with
plans to travel throughout Africa. The result of their time spent with the Tuareg-Haussa community in southern Algeria was a short
documentary film and a six-track fusion album, 'Look South', featuring Sahara Blues, Electro Sufi, Berber Groove and other vernacular genres. This track, the upbeat 'Medley with a Lady' is sung in both Arabic and Tamashek.
