[split] For about a decade now, Imarhan Timbuktu (meaning ‘those who love Timbuktu’) lead singer Mohamed Issa Ag Oumar has been crooning Saharan blues with his three siblings Ousmane, Fadimata and Zeinabou — from across Europe to their native Mali’s Festival au Desert. In this track, electric guitar and syncopated bass contrast with the tinde hand drum, and traditional call-and-response vocals echo classic Tuareg music tradition.
