[split] To say that Sabah – born Jeanette Gergis al-Feghali – was a musical icon feels like an understatement. During the 1940s onward, the Lebanese singer became a venerable superstar and actress known for her lighthearted, flirty songs and roles in romantic comedies. With her carefree demeanour and blonde locks, Sabah inadvertently became a progressive symbol in her own right, starring in at least 80 films and recording 3,000 songs during the ‘golden era’ of Arabic music. This song, ‘Maximum’, is taken from the film ‘That Man from Tehran’.
